questions

Are travel expenses and all other costs included?
Our fee is fully inclusive of all costs.  Expenses are only added if an overnight stay is required due to distance.

Are you a full time photographer or do you have another job during the week?
Rachel is a fulltime photographer with a studio in South West London

Are you insured?
Yes, we carry Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.

Do you have backup equipment?
Rachel carries plenty of backup equipment to every wedding.

How long will it take for us to receive our photos?
Once you return from honeymoon, let us know and you’ll be invited to the studio to view them on our large screen projector.  If this is impractical due to distance, we can make other arrangements.  If you’re having an album, this will be ready within 4-6 weeks of you approving the final design.

How much is the retainer and when do we pay the balance?
The retainer required to secure your booking is £250, and the balance is due one month before the wedding.

Do we need to provide you with a meal?
No, you don’t

What’s your style?  Will we need to pose for lots of photographs?
The vast majority of the day is covered in a discreet documentary style where you won’t be aware of the camera.  Most couples request a few group photos, and these are done with the aim of finishing as quickly and effectively as possible.  Apart from this, the only “camera aware” part of the day is our bride and groom art portrait session, which will take about 20 minutes.  However, the aim of this is not to make you feel self-conscious, but simply to get some beautiful portraits in a relaxed and enjoyable way.  Most couples love this part of the day, because you’re away from the guests and it’s a few minutes of “down time” together!

Can you recommend a videographer?
Absolutely, we have four excellent videographers that we recommend, all of whom work in a way that complements our own style.

I’d love to be a wedding/portrait photographer, can I do some work experience with you?
We receive several requests for work experience every week, and regrettably this is not something we offer.   Any job vacancies we have are advertised on our blog, but we don’t offer training or work experience.  The best advice we can give to those interested in photography is to enquire at your local adult education college, where there are often clubs as well as training courses.
